Sustainability and Solarfilm

What does sustainability mean

First of all, let's clarify the meaning of the words we use...Sustainability "in environmental and economic sciences, a condition for development that ensures the satisfaction of the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to achieve their own" (Source "Treccani" https://www.treccani.it)

"Tomorrow is now"

When our actions affect the environment in which we live, it is essential to be aware of it and try to do everything we can to have a production chain that limits waste to the minimum and is more sustainable overall. Solarfilm has always followed three paths: “It's good for you” “It's good for everyone” “It takes care of the planet”.

“It's good for you”

Every day we work towards a choice of sustainable products, promoting mostly useful for energy efficiency purposes, with certain origins, a known production chain and above all a product that, at the end of its life, is recyclable. In fact, all films are made of PET. Since 2023, we have only CO2 Neutral products in our catalog and since 2025 we have also introduced a new line of Saint Gobain products that boast the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification, i.e. carbon negative films.

“It's good for everyone”

All our products have an impact on our daily lives, not only ours, but also those around us; whether it's at home or in the workplace.

“It takes care of the planet”

Taking care of the planet also means reducing energy costs such as electricity or heating, and Solarfilm films were created with this very purpose. Protecting the environment, the climate, biodiversity is the purpose that has always inspired us even in unsuspecting times, when many years ago there was no talk of sustainability. Our energy is produced by an Off Grid photovoltaic system that ensures energy independence throughout the year. Our packaging is made of cardboard produced specifically for us by a certified company with recycled materials and often, when possible, we reuse packaging from our suppliers, in order to reduce company "waste" to practically zero.
